HIS SUCCESS IS EXTRAORDINARY
Scott Alexander Scheffler was born June 21, 1996. He played for the University of Texas golf team from 2014 to 2018, a team that won the Walker Cup in 2017. In 2020, he was the PGA rookie of the year and in 2022, he became the #1 ranked golfer in the PGA. He has held that position for 100 weeks.

Scottie was a member of the winning Ryder Cup team in 2021 and 2023 – and a member of the winning President’s Cup team in 2022.
He very recently won the Olympic gold medal for golf in Paris. He is shown below, becoming emotional as the Star Bangled Banner is played in Paris after he received his gold medal.
Scottie’s total PGA Tour winnings are estimated to be well over $91 million. In addition to that, he endorses TaylorMade, Nike, Veritex Community Bank, NetJets, Rolex and Golf Forever.
He and his wife Meredith welcomed their first child, a son, on May 8 this year.
This article will be relatively very short, since Scottie’s fitness routines are not lengthy or complicated. He has found what works best for him – for his golf game and physical fitness. His training addresses both goals at the same time.
SCOTTIE’S PHYSICAL TRAINING
Scottie uses a swing trainer to improve the rotation in his golf swing and to burn calories in the process . The best way to describe this is to show his workout videos. Here is his swing training video.
In his earlier years, Scottie practiced fitness by playing golf constantly. He still does, but he saw the need to work out off the golf course to avoid back pain that he was experiencing. This video will show some of the same rotational movements, more balance exercises and push-lunge movements.
A FAT LOSS SCORECARD
Scottie generally keeps his calories at 2500 per day to maintain his weight. Obviously, he plays a lot of golf and finds himself in many intense situations. This is not a weekend golfer with a riding cart!
Nutrition to Scottie is caloric awareness – how many calories is he putting into his body and how many is he burning?
He knows that an occasional bad hole isn’t going to ruin a round. It’s frustrating, but not devastating. Similarly, he doesn’t obsess over days that he overeats. He thinks of his daily calories as over par, under par or at par. He feels that he can lose or maintain weight without eating perfectly. Many of us keep on eating after we overeat. We don’t care as much since we have ruined the day. We are filled with negativity, which begets more eating.
Scottie keeps an actual scorecard to stay disciplined with this.
TRAINING EQUIPMENT
Scottie uses and wholeheartedly endorses Golf Forever training tools. These are readily available from Amazon and the swing trainer can be seen in the videos above.

FINAL THOUGHTS
It seems to me that Scottie Scheffler likes to keep things uncomplicated. He says so in this video, as he talks us through his driver swing. Note the width of his backswing.
Scottie does not complicate his training routine, his eating habits or his golf swing. Why should he? They are working for him. He is enjoying the fastest journey to golf superstardom since Tiger Woods joined the PGA.
