Affiliate marketing is an arrangement wherein “influencers” represent suppliers with whom they have established associations. We are able to post articles on topics we choose and include links to the products of those companies. If the links draw sales, we may earn commissions for our efforts.
Our affiliates don’t provide salaries, benefits or other niceties. They get publicity from our articles whether the links draw sales or not. But we appreciate the relationships since we can appeal to large numbers of potential buyers as we sit at home and write.
My topics are generally about fitness – workouts, sports, nutrition and the like. But, on special holidays, I like to post lists of sale items. This is nothing more or less than passing on discounts provided by the associated companies. I am able to gain knowledge of the discounts early and then pass them on to my readers.
